The Department of the Environment makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 20 and 56(1) of the Taxis Act (Northern Ireland) 2008(1).
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Taxi Licensing (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2016 and shall come into operation on 31st May 2016.
2.—(1) The Taxi Licensing Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015(2) are amended in accordance with paragraphs (2) to (4).
(2) In regulation 4(1) (inspection of taxi) for “should” substitute “shall”.
(3) In regulation 22(1) (luggage) for “should” substitute “shall”.
(4) In regulation 25(2)(g) (roof sign) omit “yellow”.

These Regulations make minor amendments to the Taxi Licensing Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015.
They substitute the word “should” with “shall” in regulations 4(1) and 22(1) and omit the word “yellow” in regulation 25(2)(g).
