The Credit Unions and Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act (Northern Ireland) 2016 (Commencement) Order (Northern Ireland) 2017
The Department for the Economy(), in exercise of the powers conferred by section 17(2) of the Credit Unions and Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act (Northern Ireland) 2016(), makes the following Order.
Citation
1. This Order may be cited as the Credit Unions and Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act (Northern Ireland) 2016 (Commencement) Order (Northern Ireland) 2017.
Appointed day
2. The day appointed for the coming into operation of the following provisions of the Credit Unions and Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2016 is 6th April 2018—
(a)section 4 (Attachment of shares);
(b)section 8 (Registration of societies as co-operative or community benefit societies etc.);
(c)section 16(1)(b) (Minor and consequential amendments);
(d)Part 2 of Schedule 1 (Amendments consequential on section 8).

EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order brings into operation on 6th April 2018 sections 4, 8 and 16(1)(b), and Part 2 of Schedule 1 of the Credit Unions and Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act (Northern Ireland) 2016.
Section 9 of the Act came into operation at the end of the period of two months beginning with the day of Royal Assent.
The other provisions of the Act came into operation on the day after Royal Assent.
