The Pension Schemes (2021 Act) (Commencement No. 2) Order (Northern Ireland) 2022
The Department for Communities makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 44(2) of the Pension Schemes Act (Northern Ireland) 2021().
Citation
1. This Order may be cited as the Pension Schemes (2021 Act) (Commencement No. 2) Order (Northern Ireland) 2022.
Appointed days
2. The day appointed for the coming into operation of Part 1 of the Pension Schemes Act (Northern Ireland) 2021 (Master Trusts), in so far as not already in operation, is—
(a)16th March 2022, for the purpose only of authorising the making of regulations, and
(b)6th April 2022, for all other purposes.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order provides for the coming into operation of the provisions of Part 1 of the Pension Schemes Act (Northern Ireland) 2021 which are not already in operation. The provisions will come into operation on 16th March 2022 for the purpose only of authorising the making of regulations, and on 6th April 2022 for all other purposes.
Part 1 of the Pension Schemes Act (Northern Ireland) 2021 defines Master Trust occupational pension schemes and sets out requirements for the authorisation and operation of those schemes.
NOTE AS TO EARLIER COMMENCEMENT ORDER
The following provisions of the Pension Schemes Act (Northern Ireland) 2021 have been brought into operation by an earlier commencement order as from the date shown.
