The Local Government (Performance Indicators and Standards) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2023

Coming into operation

1st June 2023

The Department for Communities(1) makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 89(1) of the Local Government Act (Northern Ireland) 2014(2) and now vested in it(3).

In accordance with sections 89(2) and 127 of that Act, the Department has consulted councils and such associations or bodies representative of councils, such associations or bodies representative of officers of councils and such other persons or bodies as appear to the Department to be appropriate.

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order shall be cited as the Local Government (Performance Indicators and Standards) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2023 and shall come into operation on 1st June 2023.

Amendment of the Local Government (Performance Indicators and Standards) Order (Northern Ireland) 2015

2.—(1) The Local Government (Performance Indicators and Standards) Order (Northern Ireland) 2015(4) shall be amended as follows:

(2) In Schedule 1 (economic development indicators), for the table, substitute the following table—

This Order amends the Local Government (Performance Indicators and Standards) Order (Northern Ireland) 2015 by updating Schedules 1 (economic development indicators) and 2 (economic development standards).

See S.R. 2016 No. 76, Article 8 of and Schedule 5 to the Departments (Transfer of Functions) Order (Northern Ireland) 2016 transferred functions to the Department for Communities which were previously exercisable by the Department of the Environment
