The Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) Amendment (Scotland) Order 2003

Citation, commencement and extent

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) Amendment (Scotland) Order 2003 and shall come into force on 30th June 2003.

(2) This Order extends to Scotland only.

Amendments to the Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) Order 1978

2.—(1) The Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) Order 1978(1) shall be amended as follows:–

(a) in article 3(2) and (4) (special disease and general orders), after “Schedule 1” insert “or Schedule 2”;

(b) in article 4 (approved disinfectants), for “Schedule 1” substitute “either Schedule 1 or Schedule 2”;

(c) at the end of article 5(3) (disinfectants listed in Schedule 1) insert–

• “, unless it is then added to the disinfectants listed in column 1 of Schedule 2”.

(d) after article 5 insert–

“Disinfectants listed in Schedule 2

6.— (1) A disinfectant listed in column 1 of Schedule 2 is approved for use, and may be used, only under and for the purposes of an order in the column relating to which (in that Schedule) a dilution rate is specified opposite the name of that disinfectant, and may, subject to the provisions of article 8, be used under an order only at the dilution rate so specified.

(2) A disinfectant listed in column 1 of Schedule 2 shall remain an approved disinfectant until 31st August 2003.”(2);

(e) for Schedule 1 (approved disinfectants), substitute Schedule 1 to this Order; and

(f) after Schedule 1 insert the Schedule set out in Schedule 2 to this Order.

Revocations

3.—(1) Article 2(4)(a), (5), (6), (7) and (9) of the Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) Amendment (Scotland) Order 2001(3) is revoked.

(2) The Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) Amendment (No. 2) (Scotland) Order 2001(4) is revoked.
