EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order brings into force, on 10th June 2013, the following provisions of the Water Resources (Scotland) Act 2013 (“the Act”)—
Part 1 which makes provision in relation to the development of water resources,
Part 7 and schedules 1 and 2 which make provision in relation to water shortage orders,
section 53 and schedule 4 which make minor and consequential repeals.
The other provisions listed in the Schedule are brought into force on the same day but only for the purposes of enabling regulations, orders and a scheme to be made under those provisions.
The Bill for the Act received Royal Assent on 9th April 2013. Section 56 of the Act brought into force Part 8 (except section 53 and Schedule 4) on the day after Royal Assent.
