The Scottish Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 13(2) of the Gender Representation on Public Boards (Scotland) Act 2018(1).

Citation and commencement

1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Gender Representation on Public Boards (Scotland) Act 2018 (Commencement No. 2) Regulations 2020 and come into force on 29 May 2020.

Appointed day

2.  The day appointed for the coming into force of section 1, sections 3 to 6, sections 9 to 11 and schedule 2 of the Gender Representation on Public Boards (Scotland) Act 2018 is 29 May 2020.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations bring into force section 1, sections 3 to 6, sections 9 to 11 and schedule 2 of the Gender Representation on Public Boards (Scotland) Act 2018 (“the Act”) on 29 May 2020.

The Bill for the Act received Royal Assent on 9 March 2018. Sections 13 and 14 came into force the following day. Section 2 (key definitions), section 7 (guidance on operation of Act), section 8 (reports on operation of Act), section 12 (regulations) and schedule 1 of the Act came into force on 1 December 2018.

NOTE AS TO EARLIER COMMENCEMENT REGULATIONS

The following provisions of the Gender Representation on Public Boards (Scotland) Act 2018 were brought into force by commencement Regulations made before the date of these Regulations:—
