The Scottish Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the power conferred by section 11(1)(a) of the Coronavirus (Scotland) Act 2020(1), and all other powers enabling them to do so.
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Coronavirus (Scotland) Act 2020 (Suspension: Muirburn) Regulations 2020 and come into force on 1 October 2020.
2. The operation of paragraphs 32 and 33 (muirburn) of schedule 7 of the Coronavirus (Scotland) Act 2020 is suspended.

These Regulations suspend the operation of paragraphs 32 and 33 of schedule 7 of the Coronavirus (Scotland) Act 2020 (“the Act”). Those provisions relate to muirburn.
Paragraphs 32 and 33 of schedule 7 of the Act modify section 23 of the Hill Farming Act 1946, with the effect of suspending the muirburn season during the period in which paragraph 33 has effect. These Regulations suspend the operation of paragraphs 32 and 33 in order to enable the muirburn season to commence from 1 October 2020.
