The Scottish Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 28(2) of the Good Food Nation (Scotland) Act 2022(1).

Citation, commencement, and interpretation

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Good Food Nation (Scotland) Act 2022 (Commencement No. 2) Regulations 2024 and come into force on 15 February 2024.

(2) In these Regulations, “the Act” means the Good Food Nation (Scotland) Act 2022.

Appointed days

2.—(1) 15 February 2024 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the provisions of the Act specified in column 1 of the table in schedule 1 (the subject matter of which is described in column 2 of that table).

(2) Where a purpose is specified in column 3 of the table in schedule 1 in relation to any provision specified in column 1 of the table in schedule 1, that provision comes into force on 15 February 2024 only for that purpose.

(3) 30 June 2025 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the provisions of the Act specified in column 1 of the table in schedule 2 (the subject matter of which is described in column 2 of that table).

(4) Where a purpose is specified in column 3 of the table in schedule 1 in relation to any provision specified in column 1 of the table in schedule 2, that provision comes into force on 30 June 2025 for that purpose.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations bring into force particular sections of the Good Food Nation (Scotland) Act 2022 (“the Act”).

Regulation 2(1) appoints 15 February 2024 as the date for the coming into force of the provisions listed in schedule 1, which relate to the Scottish Food Commission. Regulation 2(2) provides that where a purpose is specified in the third column of the table in schedule 1, the associated provision comes into force only for that purpose.

Regulation 2(3) appoints 30 June 2025 as the date for the coming into force of the provisions listed in schedule 2. Regulation 2(4) provides that where a purpose is specified in the third column of the table in schedule 2 the associated provision comes into force for that purpose.

The following provisions of the Good Food Nation (Scotland) Act 2022 have been brought into force by commencement regulations made before the date of these Regulations.
