(1)The M1Cathedrals Measures 1963 and M21976, with any necessary modifications, shall apply to a church which in accordance with a reorganisation scheme is to be or has become the cathedral church of a new diocese created by that scheme as if it—
(a)were a cathedral church to which those Measures apply and a cathedral church within the meaning of those Measures; and
(b)were a dean and chapter cathedral or a parish church cathedral within the meaning of those Measures, as that scheme determines in accordance with paragraph 4(1) of the Schedule to this Measure.
(2)Sections 16 and 17 of the M3said Measure of 1963 (which respectively relate to property vested in provosts of parish church cathedrals and to property of benefices of such cathedrals) shall have effect in relation to a church to which by virtue of subsection (1) above that Measure applies as if it were a parish church cathedral within the meaning thereof, and section 27 thereof (plans for inspection and care of cathedral property) shall have effect in relation to a cathedral church to which by virtue of that subsection that Measure applies, subject, in each case, to the following modification, that is to say, for any reference therein to the passing of that Measure there shall be substituted a reference to the coming into force of the constitution and statutes provided for the church in question by virtue of paragraph 4(1) of the Schedule to this Measure.
