2E+W+SSections 2 to 5 of the Disabled Persons (Employment) Act 1944 (which relate to vocational training and industrial rehabilitation courses) shall cease to have effect, and in section 16 of that Act (which requires the Secretary of State to give preference to ex-service men and women in selecting persons for such courses and in selecting disabled persons as candidates for engagements) the words “vocational training and industrial rehabilitation and” and the words from “and in selecting” to “engagements” shall be omitted.

(2)In subsection (2) of that section (which relates to the membership of any of the bodies constituted under section 8(1) of the Employment and Training Act 1948), for the words from “to be members” to “respectively)” there shall be substituted the words “in pursuance of section 5(2)(a) of the Employment and Training Act 1973 to advise the Secretary of State with respect to the performance of the functions conferred on him by virtue of section 10(1) of that Act”, and the words “the body in question” shall be omitted.
