Section 1(2).
1(1)In section 1(1) and (2) of the Coal Industry Nationalisation Act 1946 for the words “National Coal Board” and “the Board” there shall be substituted respectively the words “British Coal Corporation” and “the Corporation”.
(2)In section 2(1) of that Act for the words “The Board” and “National Coal Board” there shall be substituted respectively the words “The Corporation” and “British Coal Corporation”.
(3)For the word “Board” wherever it occurs in sections 1(3) and (4), 2(2) to (8), 3, 4, 27, 28, 29(2), 30, 31, 36, 37, 38(2), 46 to 54 and 64(9) of and Schedule 2A to that Act and in section 38(3) in the second place where it occurs there shall be substituted the word “Corporation”.
(4)In sections 30, 37 and 46 of that Act for the word “Board’s” wherever it occurs there shall be substituted the word “Corporation’s”.
2U.K.In section 1 of the Coal Industry Act 1949 for the word “Board” wherever it occurs there shall be substituted the word “Corporation”.
3U.K.In the Miners’ Welfare Act 1952—
(a)in sections 13 and 14 for the word “Board” wherever it occurs there shall be substituted the word “Corporation”; and

Section 3.
1E+W+SExpenditure which is related to persons who leave the employment of the Corporation or of a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Corporation by virtue of redundancy or early retirement.
2E+W+SExpenditure on payments made to or for the benefit of employees of the Corporation or of a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Corporation, or on the provision for them of housing or transport, by virtue of their work or place of employment being changed.
3E+W+SExpenditure on the maintenance of existing social welfare activities (within the meaning of the M50Miners’ Welfare Act 1952).
4E+W+SExpenditure on the maintenance of existing arrangements for the provision of concessionary coal (that is to say, coal or other solid fuel supplied free of charge or at reduced prices) or other benefits to former employees of the Corporation or any wholly-owned subsidiary of the Corporation who have reached normal retirement age or their dependants.
5E+W+SExpenditure on the provision of retraining for persons who are to leave or have left the employment of the Corporation or any wholly-owned subsidiary of the Corporation by virtue of redundancy or incapacity.
6E+W+SExpenditure on the promotion of new employment in coal mining areas and of new employment for such persons as are mentioned in paragraph 5 above (whether in such areas or elsewhere).
