Territorial extent and application
- Section 90 in Part 6 of the Act sets out the territorial extent of the Act, that is the legal jurisdictions of which the provisions in the Act are intended to form part of the law.
- The provisions in the Act extend to the whole of the UK (apart from section 48(4), which does not extend to Northern Ireland).
- The regulation of the provision of subsidies that are or may be distortive or harmful by a public authority to persons supplying goods or services in the course of a business is a reserved matter in the Scotland Act 1998 and Government of Wales Act 2006, and an excepted matter in the Northern Ireland Act 1998 (as inserted by section 52 of the United Kingdom Internal Market Act 2020).
