Sections 2 and 3.
Advances under the Acts relating to land purchase may be made after the passing of this Act in the cases specified in the first column of the following Table for the purposes respectively specified in the second column of that Table.
1. Where an agreement for the purchase of land by a tenant has been lodged with the Commission before the date of the passing of this Act and proceedings in respect thereof are pending at that date. | For the purchase of the land pursuant to the agreement. |
2. Where under any provision of the Acts relating to land purchase land has been purchased by the Commission before the date of the passing of this Act, or is thereafter purchased by them, and the Acts relating to land purchase confer a power to make an advance for any purpose in a case where land is purchased by the Commission under that provision. | For effectuating that purpose as respects the land purchased by the Commission or any part thereof. |
3. Where by virtue of Part II of the Act of 1925 any land has become vested in the Commission before the date of the passing of this Act, or becomes vested in the Commission or in the Land Purchase Trustee for Northern Ireland on or after that date. | For the purchase of any holding comprised in the land pursuant either— |
(i) to the agreement deemed by virtue of Part II of the Act of 1925 to have been entered into by the tenant; or | |
(ii) to any agreement entered into under subsection (2) of section twelve of that Act. | |
4. Where an application for the redemption of the rent of a holding pursuant to section one of the Redemption of Rent (Ireland) Act, 1891, has been lodged with the Commission before the date of the passing of this Act and proceedings in respect thereof are pending at that date. | For the redemption of the rent. |
1U.K.The powers to purchase land conferred by the Acts relating to land purchase shall continue to be exercisable so far as is requisite for the purpose of enabling effect to be given to any agreement entered into before the date of the passing of this Act.
2U.K.Section eight of the Act of 1925 shall continue to have effect so far as regards land with respect to which particulars required by the Commission for the purposes of section seventeen of that Act have been furnished or given to, or ascertained by, the Commission under that section before the expiration of three months from the date of the passing of this Act.
