1. This Order may be cited as the Sea Fisheries Act 1968 (Commencement No. 1) Order 1969 and shall come into operation on the 24th November 1969.
2. The following provisions of the Act shall come into force:—
Section 5 (regulations of conduct of fishing operations)
Section 6 (restriction on fishing within the fishery limits of the British Islands)
Section 7 (sea-fishery officers)
Section 8 (general powers of British sea-fishery officers)
Section 9 (powers of sea-fishery officers to enforce conventions)
Section 10 (miscellaneous provisions as to sea-fishery officers)
Section 11 (evidence)
Section 12 (recovery of fines imposed on master, etc. or crew)
Section 13 (compensation for damage caused by offence)
Section 14 (jurisdiction to try offences)
Part II of Schedule 1 (minor and consequential amendments)
Part II of Schedule 2 (enactments repealed) with the exception of the following provisions:—
The Sea Fisheries Act 1883 Sections 1 to 5, 11, 12, 14 to 22, in Section 25 the words “this Act shall apply to the whole of the British Islands as defined by this Act and to the seas surrounding the same whether within or without the fishery limits of the British Islands”, sections 26, 28 and 31 and Articles XIII to XXIII and XXX, XXXI and XXXIII of the First Schedule.

The Illegal Trawling (Scotland) Act 1934 section 3
The Sea Fisheries Act 1951 section 25
The Sea Fish Industry Act 1962 section 18
The Fishery Limits Act 1964 section 3(2)

This Order brings into force on 24th November 1969 those provisions of the Sea Fisheries Act 1968 which are not already in operation except the repeal of certain provisions of the Sea Fisheries Act 1883 and of certain other enactments related to that Act.
