The Secretary of State in exercise of the power conferred on her by section 3(2) of the British Library Act 1972 hereby makes the following Order:—
1. This Order may be cited as the British Library Act (Appointed Day) Order 1973.
2. The day appointed for the purposes of the British Library Act 1972 is 1st July 1973.
Given under the Official Seal of the Secretary of State for Education and Science on 26th June 1973.

This Order appoints 1st July 1973 as the day for the transfer to the British Library of the collections of the British Museum Library specified in section 3 of the British Library Act 1972 and matters consequential upon that transfer.
