The Secretary of State, in exercise of his powers under section 38(2) of the Oil and Gas (Enterprise) Act 1982, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:—

1.  This Order may be cited as the Oil and Gas (Enterprise) Act 1982 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1982.

2.  The provisions of the Oil and Gas (Enterprise) Act 1982 specified in Schedule 1 hereto shall come into force on 18th August 1982.

3.  The provisions of the Oil and Gas (Enterprise) Act 1982 specified in Schedule 2 hereto shall come into force on 1st October 1982.

Schedule 4, so far as it relates to repeals of the Petroleum (Production) Act 1934, the Gas Act 1972 (except section 7(2)), the Oil Taxation Act 1975, the Energy Act 1976 and the Gas Act 1980.Repeals

Schedule 2.Petroleum production licences: modification of model clauses.
Schedule 3, paragraphs 1, 4 and 29.Minor and consequential amendments.
Schedule 4, so far as it relates to repeals of section 2 of the Continental Shelf Act 1964, section 10 (except in so far as it relates to any offence within subsection (1)(a)) of the Mineral Workings (Offshore Installations) Act 1971, sections 22, 26 and 41 of the Petroleum and submarine Pipe-lines Act 1975 and the Customs and Excise Management Act 1979.Repeals.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order brings further provisions of the Oil and Gas (Enterprise) Act 1982 into force. The provisions specified in Schedule 1 to the Order (comprising the remaining provisions of Part II (gas) and related provisions in Schedules 3 and 4) are brought into force on 18th August 1982 and those specified in Schedule 2 (comprising the remaining provisions of Part III (petroleum licences), certain provisions of Part IV (offshore activities) and Part V (miscellaneous and general) and related provisions in Schedules 2 to 4) on 1st October, 1982.

NOTE AS TO EARLIER COMMENCEMENT ORDER

The following provisions of the Act have been brought into force by a commencement order made before the date of this Order:—
