In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 35 of the Police Act 1964, and after taking into consideration the recommendations made by the Police Negotiating Board for the United Kingdom and furnishing the said Board with a draft of the Regulations in accordance with section 2(1) of the Police Negotiating Board Act 1980, I hereby make the following Regulations:—

1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Police Cadets (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 1985.

2.  These Regulations shall come into operation on 17th June 1985 and shall have effect, for the purposes of paragraph (a) of Regulation 3, as from 25th October 1984, and, for the purposes of paragraph (b) of that Regulation, as from 1st September 1984.

3.  The Police Cadets Regulations 1979(1) shall be amended as follows:—

(a)in Regulation 18(3) (women's stocking allowance) for the words “£22” there shall be substituted the words “£25”;

(b)for the Table in Schedule 2 (pay) there shall be substituted the following Table:—

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations amend the Police Cadets Regulations 1979, with effect, as provided by Regulation 2, from the dates mentioned below (retrospective effect is authorised by section 33(4), as applied by section 35(2), of the Police Act 1964).

Regulation 3(a) increases, as from 25th October 1984, the stocking allowance for women cadets to £25 a year. Regulation 3(b) increases, as from 1st September 1984, the annual pay of cadets attached to the City of London and Metropolitan police forces.
