The Home Purchase Assistance (Recognised Lending Institutions) (No. 2) Order 1987

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 447(2) of the Housing Act 1985(1), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and with the consent of the Treasury, hereby makes the following Order:

1.  This Order may be cited as the Home Purchase Assistance (Recognised Lending Institutions) (No. 2) Order 1987 and comes into force on 4th November 1987.

2.  The bodies named in the Schedule to this Order are hereby specified for the purposes of section 447(2) of the Housing Act 1985.

SCHEDULEBODIES SPECIFIED FOR THE PURPOSES OF SECTION 447 OF THE HOUSING ACT 1985

1.  Abbey Life Executive Mortgages Limited.

2.  Abbey Life Funding Limited.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order specifies two additional bodies for the purposes of section 447 of the Housing Act 1985. Bodies recognised as lending institutions for the purposes of section 447 may receive advances from the Secretary of State to enable them to provide assistance to first-time purchasers of house property (the “Homeloan” Scheme).
