The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council
Whereas it appears to Her Majesty that provision will be made under the laws of the Bailiwick of Guernsey giving adequate protection to persons making charges for programmes included in broadcasting or cable programme services provided from the United Kingdom and for encrypted transmissions sent from the United Kingdom:
Now, therefore, Her Majesty, by virtue of the authority conferred upon Her by section 299(1) of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988(1), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:
1. This Order may be cited as the Fraudulent Reception of Transmissions (Guernsey) Order 1989 and shall come into force on 1st December 1989.
2. Section 297 of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 applies in relation to programmes included in broadcasting or cable programme services provided from a place in the Bailiwick of Guernsey, and section 298 of the said Act applies in relation to such programmes and to encrypted transmissions of any other description provided or sent from a place in the Bailiwick of Guernsey.

This Order applies the provisions of sections 297 and 298 of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, which relate to the unauthorised reception of programmes included in a broadcasting or cable programme service and of encrypted transmissions, to programmes and encrypted transmissions from Guernsey.
