THE SCHEDULETHE COUNTY COUNCIL OF SUFFOLK (MUTFORD BRIDGES) SCHEME 1989

The County Council of Suffolk (hereinafter referred to as “the Council”) make this Scheme in exercise of their powers under section 106(3) of the Highways Act 1980 and of all other enabling powers:–

1.  The Council are authorised to construct over the navigable waters of (1) Lake Lothing and (2) Mutford Lock the bridges specified respectively in Schedules 1 and 2 to this Scheme. The bridge specified in Schedule 1 is part of the highway which they are proposing to construct from the A1117 Bridge Road near its southern junction with Commodore Road in a generally southerly direction to join the A146 Victoria Road and A1117 Bridge Road (the latter south of its existing junction with Victoria Road). The bridge specified in Schedule 2 is part of the cycle track including a right of way on foot which they are proposing to construct between the southern junction of Commodore Road and A1117 Bridge Road, south, to join Bridge Road at a point 45 metres north north east of the junction between Bridge Road and the Boulevard.

2.  This Scheme may be cited as the County Council of Suffolk (Mutford Bridges) Scheme 1989.

SCHEDULE 1PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS OF THE BRIDGE OVER LAKE LOTHING

(1) The Bridge will commence at a point on the west end of Lake Lothing 15.00 metres east of the east parapet of the existing Mutford Swing Bridge, and 73.00 metres north east of the north east corner of no. 116 Bridge Road. It will terminate at a point on the west end of Lake Lothing 13.00 metres east of the east parapet of the existing Mutford Swing Bridge, and 16.00 metres south of the south corner of no. 114 Bridge Road.

(2) The specifications of the bridge (including the spans headways and waterways) are shown on two plans marked “Schedule 1 Plan 1” and “Schedule 1 Plan 2”, each containing the title of the Scheme, sealed with the Common Seal of the Council and deposited at:–

(i)Waveney District Council Offices, High Street, Lowestoft

(ii)Suffolk County County Offices, County Hall, Ipswich

(iii)Offices of the Secretary of State, 49–51 Goldington Road, Bedford

SCHEDULE 2PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS OF THE BRIDGE OVER MUTFORD LOCK

(1) The bridge will commence at a point on the south side of Mutford Lock 15.00 metres west of the west parapet of the existing Mutford Swing Bridge. It will terminate at a point on the north side of Mutford Lock 15.00 metres west of the west parapet of the existing Mutford Swing Bridge.

(2) The specifications of the bridge (including the spans headways and waterways) are shown on a plan marked “Schedule 2 Plan 1” and “Schedule 2 Plan 2”, each containing the title of the Scheme, sealed with the Common Seal of the Council and deposited at the offices mentioned in Schedule 1 above.
