The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 58(1) of the Housing (Scotland) Act 1988 (1)and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Right To Purchase From A Public Sector Landlord (Application Form) (Scotland) Regulations 1989 and shall come into force on 3rd April 1989.
2. In these Regulations:
“the Act” means the Housing (Scotland) Act 1988;
“applicant” means a person who has been approved by Scottish Homes under section 57 of the Act or, as the case may be, Scottish Homes; and
“public sector landlord” has the same meaning as in section 56(3) of the Act.
3. For the purposes of section 58(1) of the Act (which requires an applicant wishing to exercise the right conferred by Part III of the Act to acquire a house from a public sector landlord to serve a notice on that landlord), there is prescribed the notice in the form set out in the Schedule hereto or in a form substantially to the like effect.

These Regulations prescribe the form of notice to be used by an applicant for the purpose of exercising the right conferred by Part III of the Housing (Scotland) Act 1988 to purchase a house belonging to a public sector landlord.
