Regulation 2(2)

SCHEDULE 1

PART ICLASSES OF HEAVY GOODS VEHICLES

(1) Class(2) Definition
For the purposes of the above definitions where a vehicle is fitted with two wheels in line transversely and the distance between the centres of their respective areas of contact with the road is less than 457mm they shall be regarded as only one wheel.
1An articulated goods vehicle combination without automatic transmission.
1AAn articulated goods vehicle combination with automatic transmission.
2A heavy goods vehicle without automatic transmission, other than an articulated goods vehicle combination, designed and constructed to have more than four wheels in contact with the road surface.
2AA heavy goods vehicle with automatic transmission, other than an articulated goods vehicle combination, designed and constructed to have more than four wheels in contact with the road surface.
3A heavy goods vehicle without automatic transmission, other than an articulated goods vehicle combination, designed and constructed to have not more than four wheels in contact with the road surface.
3AA heavy goods vehicle with automatic transmission, other than an articulated goods vehicle combination, designed and constructed to have not more than four wheels in contact with the road surface.

PART IICLASSES OF PUBLIC SERVICE VEHICLES

(1) Class(2) Definition
1A double-decked vehicle without automatic transmission.
1AA double-decked vehicle with automatic transmission.
2A single-decked vehicle without automatic transmission or a half-decked vehicle without automatic transmission being in either case a vehicle the overall length of which exceeds 8.5 metres.
2AA single-decked vehicle with automatic transmission or a half-decked vehicle with automatic transmission being in either case a vehicle the overall length of which exceeds 8.5 metres.
3A single-decked vehicle without automatic transmission or a half-decked vehicle without automatic transmission being in either case a vehicle the overall length of which does not exceed 8.5 metres but which does exceed 5.5 metres.
3AA single-decked vehicle with automatic transmission or a half-decked vehicle with automatic transmission being in either case a vehicle the overall length of which does not exceed 8.5 metres but which does exceed 5.5 metres.
4A single-decked vehicle without automatic transmission or a half-decked vehicle without automatic transmission being in either case a vehicle the overall length of which does not exceed 5.5 metres.
4AA single-decked vehicle with automatic transmission or a half-decked vehicle with automatic transmission being in either case a vehicle the overall length of which does not exceed 5.5 metres.
4BA vehicle specified in item 4 or 4A above but restricted to uses specified in the licence.
