Whereas a draft of this Order has been laid before Parliament and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament:
Now, therefore, Her Majesty, in pursuance of section 1(2) of the Armed Forces Act 1986(1), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered as follows:–
1. The Army Act 1955(2), the Air Force Act 1955(3) and the Naval Discipline Act 1957(4) shall, instead of expiring on 31st August 1991, continue in force until 31st December 1991.
2. This Order may be cited as the Army, Air Force and Naval Discipline Acts (Continuation) Order 1991.

This Order enables the provisions of the Army Act 1955, the Air Force Act 1955 and the Naval Discipline Act 1957 to continue in force until 31st December 1991 which is the latest date provided for in section 1(3) of the Armed Forces Act 1986.
