The Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Act 1963 (Variation of Fees) Order 1991

In pursuance of sections 35(2) and 40(2) of, and paragraph 23 of Part II of Schedule 3 to, the Local Government Act 1966(1) I hereby make the following Order:

1.  This Order may be cited as the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Act 1963 (Variation of Fees) Order 1991 and shall come into force on 2nd December 1991.

2.  The sum specified in paragraph 11 of Schedule 2 to the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Act 1963(2) (fees in respect of registration as a registered pool promoter) shall, instead of £350, be £464.

3.  The sum specified in paragraph 12(1) of Schedule 3 to the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Act 1963(3) (fees in respect of application for a track betting licence) shall, instead of £35, be £46.

4.  The sum specified in paragraph 12(2) of Schedule 3 to the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Act 1963(4) (fees in respect of track betting licence) shall, instead of £350, be £464.

5.  The sum specified in paragraph 12(3) of Schedule 3 to the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Act 1963(5) (fees in respect of transfer of track betting licence) shall, instead of £35, be £46.

6.  The Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Act 1963 (Variation of Fees) Order 1982(6) is hereby revoked.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order increases the maximum amount of certain fees payable under the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Act 1963. The maximum amount which may be fixed by the appropriate registering authority as the registration fee and annual continuation fee payable by a registered pool promotor is increased from £350 to £464 by article 2. The maximum amounts which may be fixed by the appropriate licensing authority as fees in respect of any application for a track betting licence, the licence itself and any transfer of such licence are increased by articles 3, 4 and 5 from £35 to £46, £350 to £464 and £35 to £46 respectively.
