At the Court at Buckingham Palace, the 11th day of February 1992 Present, The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council Her Majesty, in pursuance of section 735(1) of the Merchant Shipping Act 1894(1), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:

1.  This Order may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Confirmation of Legislation) (Cayman Islands) Order 1992 and shall come into force on 12th March 1992.

2.  The Registration of Merchant Ships Law, 1991(2) enacted by the Legislature of the Cayman Islands, is hereby confirmed.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This order, made under section 735(1) of the Merchant Shipping Act 1894, confirms a law of 1991 enacted by the Legislature of the Cayman Islands, which permits demise charter registration in the Cayman Islands and makes certain technical amendments to the law relating to the registration of ships.
