In exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 121 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984(1), I hereby make the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 (Commencement No.5) Order 1992.
2. Section 60(1)(b) of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 shall come into force in the Thames Valley police area on the day following the date of making of this Order.

This Order brings into force on 9th November 1992 in the Thames Valley police area section 60(1)(b) of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984. The effect is to require the Secretary of State to make an order requiring the tape-recording of interviews with suspects at police stations in that area in accordance with the Code of Practice issued by him (which, by virtue of S.I. 1988/1200, came into operation on 29th July 1988). The entire Act is now in force.
