In exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of the Community Care (Residential Accommodation) Act 1992(1) and of all other powers enabling me in that behalf, I hereby make the following Order:—
Citation
1. This Order may be cited as the Community Care (Residential Accommodation) Act 1992 (Commencement) Order 1992.
Day appointed
2. 1st April 1993 is the day appointed for the coming into force of section 1 of the Community Care (Residential Accommodation) Act 1992.

Explanatory Note
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order brings into force on 1st April 1993 section 1 of the Community Care (Residential Accommodation) Act 1992. The 1992 Act replaces the amendments made to section 26 of the National Assistance Act 1948 by section 42(2) of the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990. Section 42(2) of the 1990 Act is repealed by section 1(2) of the 1992 Act, which also consequentially amends section 42(3) of the 1990 Act and repeals section 2(5)(a) of the Registered Homes (Amendment) Act 1991.
