Whereas the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food was of the opinion, in accordance with section 1(1)(a) of the Food and Environment Protection Act 1985(1), that there had been or might have been circumstances as were likely to create a hazard to human health through human consumption of food;

And whereas the said Minister was of the opinion, in accordance with section 1(1)(b) of the said Act, that in consequence of the said circumstances food which was or might have been in the future derived from creatures and crops in the area described in the Schedule to the Food Protection (Emergency Prohibitions) (Dioxins) (England) (No.2) Order 1992(2), was, or might have been, or might have become, unsuitable for human consumption;

And whereas the said Minister is now of the opinion that such food is no longer unsuitable for human consumption in consequence of the said circumstances;

Now, therefore, the said Minister, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 1(1) and (2) and section 24(1) and (3) of the said Act, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Title and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Food Protection (Emergency Prohibitions) (Dioxins) (England) (No.2) (Revocation) Order 1992 and shall come into force on 16th December 1992.

Revocation

2.  The Food Protection (Emergency Prohibitions) (Dioxins) (England) (No.2) Order 1992((2)) is hereby revoked.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order revokes the Food Protection (Emergency Prohibitions) (Dioxins) (England) (No.2) Order 1992 which contains emergency prohibitions restricting various activities in order to prevent human consumption of food which had been or which might have been rendered unsuitable for that purpose in consequence of contamination by dioxins or other poisonous substances.
