The Police (Amendment) (No. 4) Regulations 1993

In exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 33 of the Police Act 1964(1), after taking into consideration the recommendations made by the Police Negotiating Board for the United Kingdom and furnishing the said Board with a draft of the Regulations in accordance with section 2(1) of the Police Negotiating Board Act 1980(2), I hereby make the following Regulations:

Citation, commencement and interpretation.

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Police (Amendment) (No. 4) Regulations 1993 and shall come into force on 22nd November 1993, but regulation 2 shall have effect as from 1st April 1993 and regulations 3 and 4 shall have effect as from 1st September 1993.

(2) In these Regulations “the principal Regulations” means the Police Regulations 1987(3).

Removal allowance

2.  Regulation 53(7) of the principal Regulations is amended by substituting for the figure “£1,257” the figure “£1,290”.

Scales of pay

3.  Schedule 5 to the principal Regulations is amended by substituting for Tables A and B the tables set out in the Schedule to these Regulations.

Dog handler’s allowance

4.  Schedule 11 to the principal Regulations is amended by substituting for the figure “£915” the figure “£930” and for the figure “£1,251” the figure “£1,269”.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Regulation)

These Regulations further amend the Police Regulations 1987. Regulation 2 increases, with effect from 1st April 1993, the maximum amount of removal allowance payable in respect of incidental expenses. Regulation 3 increases pay, and regulation 4 increases the dog handler’s allowance, both with effect from 1st September 1993. Retrospection is authorised by section 33(4) of the Police Act 1964.
