The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 5 of and Schedule 3 to the Public Expenditure and Receipts Act 1968(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation, extent and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages (Fees) (Scotland) Order 1993, shall apply to Scotland only and shall come into force on 1st April 1994.

Fees

2.  The fees payable under the enactments specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this Order in respect of the certificates described in column 2 of that Schedule shall be the amounts specified in column 4 thereof (the amounts previously prescribed(2) are specified in column 3 of that Schedule).

Revocation

3.  The Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages (Fees) (Scotland) Order 1992(3) is hereby revoked.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order, which extends to Scotland only, sets out, with effect from 1st April 1994, the fee payable for a certificate of birth, death or marriage issued for special purposes under certain statutory provisions. The fee is increased as at that date from £5.50 to £7.00. The Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages (Fees) (Scotland) Order 1992 is revoked.
