The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 20(8), 21(8) and 51 of the Gaming Act 1968((1)) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Gaming Act (Variation of Monetary Limits) (Scotland) Order 1994 and shall come into force on 1st May 1994.
(2) This Order shall extend to Scotland only.
2. Section 20(8) of the Gaming Act 1968 (which specifies the maximum amount by which weekly winnings on any particular bingo club premises may exceed the aggregate amount of the stakes hazarded) shall have effect with the substitution, for the reference in that subsection to the sum of £250((2)), of a reference to the sum of £2500.
3. In section 21(2) of the Gaming Act 1968 (conditions on which gaming for prizes is permitted at licensed club premises) paragraphs (b) and (e) shall have effect as if, for the sum of £2.50((3)) specified in each of those paragraphs, there were substituted the sum of £27.50.
4. Article 3 of the Gaming Act (Variation of Monetary Limits) (Scotland) Order 1993((4)) is hereby revoked.
5. Article 3 of the Gaming Act (Variation of Monetary Limits) (Scotland) Order 1992((5)) is hereby revoked.

This Order extends to Scotland only. It increases from £2250 to £2500 the maximum amount by which weekly winnings on any particular bingo club premises may exceed the aggregate amount of the stakes hazarded.
It also increases the maximum amounts permitted–
(a)to be taken by way of the sale of chances; and
(b)as the aggregate amount or value of prizes, on any one determination of winners in gaming for prizes at licensed club premises under section 21 of the Gaming Act 1968.
The reference to £250 in section 20(8) has effect with the substitution therefor of a reference to £2250 by virtue of Article 3 of the Gaming Act (Variation of Monetary Limits) (Scotland) Order 1993 (S.I. 1993/1037).
Section 21(2)(b) and (e) have effect, by virtue of Article 3 of the Gaming Act (Variation of Monetary Limits) (Scotland) Order 1992 (S.I. 1992/751), as if, for the sum of £2.50 specified in each of those paragraphs (as read with section 10(1) of the Decimal Currency Act 1969 (c. 19)) there were substituted the sum of £25.
