The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council
Her Majesty, in exercise of the power conferred upon Her by section 37(2) of the British Nationality Act 1981(1), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:
1. This Order may be cited as the British Nationality (South Africa) Order 1994 and shall come into force on 26th July 1994.
2. Schedule 3 to the British Nationality Act 1981 (countries whose citizens are Commonwealth citizens) shall be amended by inserting the words “South Africa” under the words “Solomon Islands”.

This Order adds South Africa to Schedule 3 to the British Nationality Act 1981 with the result that citizens of South Africa shall have the status of Commonwealth citizens.
