The Shetland Islands Council Harbour Revision Order 1994

Coming into force

1st December 1994

Whereas Shetland Islands Council have applied for a Harbour Revision Order under section 14 of the Harbours Act 1964(1) (hereinafter called “the Act”);

And whereas there were no objections to the application for the Order;

And whereas the objects of the Order for which the application is made are objects specified in section 14(2A) of the Act;

Now, therefore, the Secretary of State for Transport (being the appropriate Minister under section 14(7) of the Act(2) for the purpose of making this Order), in exercise of the powers conferred by section 14 of the Act and now vested in him(3) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:—

Citation and Commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Shetland Islands Council Harbour Revision Order 1994 and shall come into force on 1st December 1994.

Repeal

2.  Section 68 of the Zetland County Council Act 1974(4) (Harbour Advisory Committee) is hereby repealed.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order repeals section 68 of the Zetland County Council Act 1974 which provided for the constitution of the Zetland Harbour Advisory Committee to advise and assist Shetland Islands Council in its management of ports and the Shetland coastal area.
