COMPOSITION OF THE COURT OF APPEAL

The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 172(2) of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994(1), hereby makes the following Order:—

1.  This Order may be cited as the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 (Commencement No. 3) Order 1994.

2.  Section 52 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 (Circuit judges to act as judges of criminal division of Court of Appeal) shall come into force on 11th January 1995.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order, the third Commencement Order to be made in respect of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994, brings into force on 11th January 1995 amendments to the Supreme Court Act 1981 (c. 54). The amendments enable Circuit judges to act as judges of the criminal division of the Court of Appeal.
