SAFETY

The Merchant Shipping and Fishing Vessels (Medical Stores) Regulations 1995

Whereas the Secretary of State is a Minister designated(1) for the purpose of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972(2) in relation to measures relating to maritime transport:

And whereas, in so far as the following Regulations are made in the exercise of powers conferred by section 21 of the Merchant Shipping Act 1979(3), the Secretary of State has in pursuance of subsection (2) of section 22 of that Act consulted the persons referred to in that subsection:

Now therefore the Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by:

(a)

the said section 2(2);

(b)

sections 21(1)(a), (3), (4) and (6) and 22(1) of the Merchant Shipping Act 1979(4); and

(c)

section 103(3) of the Medicines Act 1968(5);

and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:—
