The Secretary of State for Wales makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980(1) and of all other enabling powers:
1. The new highway which the Secretary of State proposes to construct along the route described in Schedule 1 to this Order shall become a trunk road as from the date when this Order comes into force.
2. The central line of the new trunk road is indicated by a heavy black line on the deposited plan.
3. The length of trunk road described in Schedule 2 to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a principal road as from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the County Council of Powys that the new trunk road is open for through traffic.
4. In this Order—
All measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway;
(i)“the deposited plan” means the plan numbered HA 10/2 WO114 marked “The Glanusk Park (Crickhowell)-Llyswen Trunk Road (A479) (Dderw Improvement) Order 1995” signed by the authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at the Welsh Office Repository, Curran Embankment, Cardiff;
(ii)“the new trunk road” means the highway mentioned in Article 1 of this Order;
(iii)“principal road” as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is a principal road for the purposes of enactments and instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads and is also classified for the purpose of every other enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State;
(iv)“the trunk road” means the Glanusk Park (Crickhowell)-Llyswen Trunk Road (A479).
5. This Order shall come into force on 5th October 1995 and may be cited as the Glanusk Park (Crickhowell)-Llyswen Trunk Road (A479) (Dderw Improvement) Order 1995.

The route of the new trunk road is a route at Llyswen in the County of Powys about 0.54 kilometres in length, starting at a point on the trunk road about 200 metres west of its junction with the A4079 and extending in a south easterly direction to a point about 279 metres south east of its junction with the A4079.
The length of trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is that length of the trunk road which is situated at the junction with the A4079 extending in a south westerly direction about 0.01 kilometres in length.
