The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 88(10) of the Civil Aviation Act 1982(1), hereby makes the following Order:

1.  This Order may be cited as the Aerodromes (Designation) (Detention and Sale of Aircraft) Order 1995 and shall come into force on 19th October 1995.

2.  The aerodromes specified in the Schedule hereto are hereby designated for the purposes of section 88 of the Civil Aviation Act 1982.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

Section 88 of the Civil Aviation Act 1982 empowers the person owning or managing an aerodrome to which the section applies to detain and sell aircraft where default is made in the payment of airport charges. This Order designates Barra-Traigh Mhor and Biggin Hill aerodromes as aerodromes to which section 88 applies.
