The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 124(3) of the Courts and Legal Services Act 1990(1), hereby makes the following Order—

1.  This Order may be cited as the Courts and Legal Services Act 1990 (Commencement No. 10) Order 1995.

2.  Section 82 of the Courts and Legal Services Act 1990 shall come into force forthwith.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order brings into force forthwith section 82 of the Courts and Legal Services Act 1990. That section amends the Judicial Pensions Act 1981 (c. 20) to allow Regulations to be made entitling a member of a judicial pension scheme constituted by that Act or by the Sheriffs' Pensions (Scotland) Act 1961 (c. 42) to make voluntary contributions towards the cost of the provision of additional benefits under the scheme.
