The Secretary of State for Social Security, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 37(3), (4) and (10), 69(3)(a) and (b), 76(2), (3) and (8), 77(4) and (6), 124(1), 125(4)(a) and 174 of the Pensions Act 1995(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, by this instrument, which contains only regulations made by virtue of, or consequential on, provisions in Part I of that Act and is made before the end of the period of 6 months beginning with the coming into force of those provisions(2), hereby makes the following Regulations:

1995 c. 26. Section 124(1) is cited for the meaning it gives to "prescribed" and "regulations".

(2)

See section 120 of the Pensions Act 1995 which provides that the Secretary of State must consult such persons as he considers appropriate before making regulations by virtue of the provisions in Part I of that Act. This duty does not apply to regulations made before the end of 6 months from the coming into force of the provisions under which they are made or regulations which state that they are consequential on a specified enactment and are made within 6 months of the coming into force of that enactment.
