The Secretary of State for Social Security, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 8(3)(a), 9(2A)(a), (2B), (2C), (3) and (6)(a), 10(2)(c) and (3)(c), 11(3) and (5)(a) to (c), 12C(1) and (3), 20(1), (2) and (3), 21(1), 25(2), 28(2)(b), 34, 37(1), 39, 56(2), 73(1)(b), (2)(b) and (4)(b), 93(1A)(b), 95(2)(c) and (3), 97(1), 113(1) and (3), 146(4), 168(1) and (4), 181(1) and 182(2) and (3) of and paragraphs 1, 3, 4(2) and 5(3)(e) of Schedule 2 to the Pension Schemes Act 1993M1, sections 10(3), 17(1)(c) and (4)(b), 19(1)(c) and (4), 21(4), (5), (6), (7) and (8)(b), 37(10), 40(1) and (2)(e), 41(1) and (6), 47(5), 49(8)(b), 56(2)(b) and (3), 57(1)(a), 58(2) and (7), 60(2)(b) and (4), 61, 69(3)(c), 73(9), 75(10), 76(8), 77(6), 87(1), 118(1)(a) and (b), 119, 124(1), 125(2), (3) and (4) and 174(2) and (3) of the Pensions Act 1995M2 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, by this instrument, the Occupational Pensions Board having agreed that the proposals to make these regulations, to the extent that they are made under the Pension Schemes Act 1993, need not be referred to themM3 and the Secretary of State having consulted with such persons as he considered appropriateM4, hereby makes the following regulations:—
