SCHEDULE 1SCHEDULED WORKS

Work No. 1

A 130 metre single span bridge carrying a pedestrian and cycle route across the River Tyne from a point on the south river wall 440 metres downstream of the Tyne Bridge to a point on the north river wall 450 metres downstream of the Tyne Bridge. The bridge shall rotate about its horizontal axis to allow the passage of maritime traffic through a navigable channel which has a minimum clearance of 25 metres above the level of high water for an unobstructed width of 30 metres.

Work No. 2

A system of fixed piles installed to bedrock and linked by floating booms to demarcate the southern boundary of the navigable channel through the bridge in its open position. The piles and booms shall define a line no more than 15 metres to the south of, and parallel to, the centre line of the River Tyne for distances of 45 metres east and 40 metres west of the horizontal axis of rotation of the bridge together with an angled section, at each end of the line, 40 metres long angled between 30 degrees and 40 degrees away from the centre line of the River Tyne.

Work No. 3

A system of fixed piles installed to bedrock and linked to floating booms to demarcate the northern boundary of the navigable channel through the bridge in its open position. The piles and booms shall define a line no more than 15 metres to the north of, and parallel to, the centre line of the River Tyne for distances of 45 metres east and 40 metres west of the horizontal axis of rotation of the bridge together with an angled section at each end of the line 40 metres long angled between 30 degrees and 40 degrees away from the centre line of the River Tyne.
