The Housing Benefit (General) Amendment (No. 2) Regulations 1999

The Secretary of State for Social Security in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1(1C), 189(4) and 191 of the Social Security Administration Act 1992(1) after agreement by those organisations appearing to him to be representative of the authorities concerned that consultations should not be undertaken(2) and after agreement by the Social Security Advisory Committee that proposals in respect of these Regulations should not be referred to it(3), hereby makes the following Regulations:

1992 c. 5; section 1(1A) to (1C) was inserted by section 19 of the Social Security Administration (Fraud) Act 1997 (c. 47). Section 191 is an interpretation provision and is cited because of the meaning ascribed to the word “prescribe”.
