The Secretary of State for Social Security, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 68B, 68D(1), 101D(4)(b), 101F(6)(b), 101I, 101L(1)(2), 181(1)(3) and 182(2) and (3) of the Pension Schemes Act 1993(4), sections 73(7) and 124(1) of the Pensions Act 1995(5) and sections 23(1)(a) and (d), 30(1) and (2), 35(2)(b), 45(1), 83(4) and (6) and 84(2) of, and paragraphs 1(3)(c), 5(b) and 7(1)(b) and (2)(b) of Schedule 5 to, the Welfare Reform and Pensions Act 1999, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, having consulted such persons as he considered appropriate(6), hereby makes the following Regulations:

(1)

Sections 68B and 68D are inserted by section 36 of the Welfare Reform and Pensions Act 1999 (c. 30).

(2)

Sections 101D, 101F, 101I and 101L are inserted by section 37 of the Welfare Reform and Pensions Act 1999.

(3)

Section 181 is cited because of the meaning there given to “prescribed” and “regulations”.
