Whereas a draft of this Instrument was laid before Parliament in accordance with section 80(1)(a) of the Social Security Act 1998M1 and section 68 of, and paragraph 20(4) of Schedule 7 to, the Child Support, Pensions and Social Security Act 2000M2 and approved by resolution of each House of Parliament;
Now, therefore, the Secretary of State for Social Security, in exercise of powers conferred by sections 5(1)(hh) and 6(1)(hh) of the Social Security Administration Act 1992M3, sections 7(6)(a) and 79(4) to (7) of the Social Security Act 1998 and section 68 of, and paragraphs 3(1), (4) and (6), 4(4) and (6), 6(2)(e), (4), (7) and (8), 8(7)(c) and (8), 10(1), 12, 13, 14(2), 15, 16(3) and (5), 19(1), 20(1)(b) and (3) and 23(1)M4 and (2) of Schedule 7 to, the Child Support, Pensions and Social Security Act 2000 and all other powers enabling him in that behalf, by this Instrument, which contains only regulations made by virtue of, or consequential upon, those provisions of the Child Support, Pensions and Social Security Act 2000 and which are made before the end of the period of six months beginning with the coming into force of those provisionsM5, after consultation with the Council on Tribunals in accordance with section 8 of the Tribunals and Inquiries Act 1992M6, and after consultation with organisations appearing to him to be representative of the authorities concernedM7, hereby makes the following Regulations:
