1975 c. 60; section 59(1) was amended by section 1(7) of the Pensions (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1990 (c. 7) and by the Social Security (Consequential Provisions) Act 1992 (c. 6) Schedule 2, paragraph 34. Section 59(5) was amended by Section 11 of the Social Security Act 1979 (c. 18) and the Social Security Act 1985 (c. 53), Schedule 5, paragraph 33. Section 59 was also amended by the Social Security Act 1979, sections 11 and 21(4) and Schedule 3, paragraph 20, Section 9(8) of the Social Security Act 1986 and section 5 of the Pensions (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1990, which inserted sub-section (5ZA). Section 59 is modified by section 59A, which was inserted by section 11(4) of the Social Security Act 1979 and amended by section 9(9) of the Social Security Act 1986, and further amended by section 190, Schedule 8, paragraph 9(2) of the Pension Schemes Act 1993.
