1. This Order may be cited as the European Communities (Definition of Treaties) (European Police Office) Order 2004 and shall come into force on the date on which the Protocol amending the Convention on the establishment of a European Police Office (Europol Convention) and the Protocol on the privileges and immunities of Europol, the members of its organs, the deputy directors and the employees of Europol signed at Brussels on 28th November 2002(1) enters into force in respect of the United Kingdom. That date shall be notified in the London, Edinburgh and Belfast Gazettes.
2. The protocol specified in the Schedule to this Order is to be regarded as a Community Treaty as defined in section 1(2) of the European Communities Act 1972.
