JUDICIAL APPOINTMENTS AND REMOVALS, NORTHERN IRELAND

The Lord Chancellor in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 148(1) of the Constitutional Reform Act 2005 (1) makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Constitutional Reform Act 2005 (Commencement No.1) Order 2005.
2. The following provisions of the Constitutional Reform Act 2005 shall come into force on 15th June 2005–
(a)section 123 (disclosure to the Northern Ireland Judicial Appointments Commission) except in so far as it inserts subsection (6) into section 5A of the Justice (Northern Ireland) Act 2002 (2); and
(b)section 132 (confidentiality in relation to judicial appointments and discipline).

This Commencement Order, which is the first to be made under the Constitutional Reform Act 2005, brings into force on 15th June 2005 section 123 (except to the extent that it inserts a new subsection 5A(6) into the Justice (Northern Ireland) Act 2002) and section 132 of the Act.
