The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 67(2)(a) and (b), 72(8)(a) and (b), 123(1)(a), (d) and (e), 130(2) and (4), 135(1) and (2), 136(2), (3), (4) and (5), 136A(2), (3) and (4)(1), 137(1), 137(2)(h) and (i), 138(1)(a), (2) and (4), and 175(1), (3) and (4) of the Social Security Contributions and Benefits Act 1992(2), sections 1(1C)(3), 5(1)(p), 5(6)(4) and 189(4) and (5) of the Social Security Administration Act 1992(5), sections 4(5) and (12), 12(1), (2) and (4)(a), 20(4), 20B(4)(6), 35(1) and 36(1) and (2) of and paragraphs 1(2)(b), 8, 8A(7), 10(1) and (2) and 12 of Schedule 1 to the Jobseekers Act 1995(8), section 122(5) of the Housing Act 1996(9), sections 62(4)(c), 63(4)(c) and 65(1) of the Child Support, Pensions and Social Security Act 2000(10), sections 7(4)(c), 8(4)(c) and 11(1) of the Social Security Fraud Act 2001(11), sections 2(3)(b), 6(1), 15(2) and (6)(b) and 17(2)(a) of the State Pension Credit Act 2002(12) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, after agreement by the Social Security Advisory Committee that proposals in respect of these Regulations should not be referred to it(13), makes the following Regulations:
Section 136A was inserted for the purpose only of exercising power to make regulations by paragraph 3 of Schedule 2 of the State Pension Credit Act 2002 (c. 16).
Section 1C was inserted by section 19 of the Social Security Administration (Fraud) Act 1997 (c. 47).
Section 5(6) was inserted by section 120 of the Housing Act 1996 (c. 52).
Section 20B was inserted by section 59 of the Welfare Reform and Pensions Act 1999 (c. 30).
Paragraph 8A was inserted by section 59 of the Welfare Reform and Pensions Act 1999.
