In accordance with section 10 of the International Organisations Act 1968 (1) (“the Act”) a draft of this Order was laid before Parliament and has been approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament.
Her Majesty in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by section 1 of the Act is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is ordered, as follows—
1. This Order may be cited as the European Forest Institute (Legal Capacities) Order 2005 and shall come into force on the date, to be notified in the London, Edinburgh and Belfast Gazettes, on which the Convention on the European Forest Institute (2) enters into force in respect of the United Kingdom.
2. The European Forest Institute is an organisation of which the United Kingdom and other sovereign Powers are members.
3. The European Forest Institute shall have the legal capacities of a body corporate.

This Order confers the legal capacities of a body corporate on the European Forest Institute. This legal capacity is conferred in accordance with Article 12 of the Convention on the European Forest Institute. The Order will enable Her Majesty’s Government to give effect to Article 12 of that Convention, and will come into force on the date on which the Convention enters into force in respect of the United Kingdom.
